The Story
Those of you who live in Minnesota may know that an elderly man was struck and killed during a hit and run in Big Lake.
When 76-year-old Ira Everett Shank was crossing the street to get the Sunday morning newspaper, as he had done every day for more than 13 years, when he was hit.
“Hitting a person or any object at 50 miles an hour, it would be impossible to not know you hit something,” said Captain Joel Brott from the sheriff’s office. The striking vehicle should have significant front end damage, including possible blood or clothing particles. The Minnesota State Patrol and the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the incident.
